Tell me this...

Why are people so stupid?

Why are people so desperate for drama and violence? Is there something wrong with our society that we try to provoke those who seem mentally unstable, and shout "fight, fight, fight," when students get into messy disputes? Obviously, something is amiss. 

Case in point: there's this kid who goes to my school. Weird guy. Not too popular. Did I mention he's weird? Anyway, he's talked about shooting down our grade since the eighth grade. Oh, yeah, he's gotten suspended and expelled and all that shit, but he always comes back. Now, we're all seniors and he supposedly has thing big plan to shoot us all at graduation. He even has--or rather, had--a hit list. 

Oh, me! Oh, my!

You'd think that'd be enough to inspire people to either ignore/avoid the guy, or become his best friend in a futile attempt not to get shot...but nah, of course people still have to look for even more drama in their socially inept lives.

A rumor spread last night that today, he was gonna "take care of some business." Because it's high school, and there's facebook and texting, it took only a matter of hours before nearly everyone was talking about it. The police were called, they searched his house--and found nothing, by the way--, and our principal made a personal visit to apologize to the guy and his family. It was chaos this morning though. Every single person in the hall could be heard saying, "oh, hey! We're gonna die today!" And a majority of students chose to skip because they, "didn't wanna die."

I won't lie. I was pretty freaked out myself. In fact, my sis and I almost turned back and went home.

But my point is, at the end of the day, nothing was in his house. He probably wasn't even planning anything today. Whoever started the whole rumor either has too much time on their hand, or just enjoys seeing students and faculty alike in a state of frenzy. Regardless, whoever started the rumor is possibly...the. Most. Pathetic and stupid. Human. In. The world.

If he didn't wanna shoot us before, he certainly does now.
